    There are a few casinos in the commonwealth, most on docked riverboats. The biggest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Indian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of casino space, 1,500 one armed bandits, thirty table games, like vingt-et-un, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous types of poker; also 3 dining rooms, monthly entertainment, and betting instructions. An additional large American Indian gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 slot machines, and fourteen table games. Furthermore, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is available 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling halls, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

    A smaller Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a river boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. One more Iowa river boat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is open 24 hours, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. river based casino in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday 21 events.

    Iowa casinos present an excellent amount of tax revenue to the government of Iowa, which has allowed the funding of many state wide activities. Visitors have gotten bigger at a fast percentage along with the requirement for services and a growth in jobs. Iowa gambling dens have been instrumental to the growth of the economy, and the affection for gambling in Iowa is absolute.
