• Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is banned. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; although, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and although visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are methods around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling den, contains 150 slots and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel building that highlights a number of amenities on top of the gambling den, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
